It's a snowy winter evening when one of Old Man Winter's gingerbread men has been found crushed. Old Man Winter is devastated and will not let winter end until the mystery has been solved. As a detective you will interview characters like Elves, Gingerbread men and women, Reindeers and more! It's up to you to figure out who did it. The longer we wait, the colder and darker winter gets. Can you help save winter before the sun disappears forever?

If you love mystery themed novels and detective shows, then you will love this program! This experience will give you the chance to test your critical thinking skills in hypothetical situations based in fantasy and reality. Girl Scouts will learn how to excel in puzzles and riddles that involve colors, wordplay, shapes, and math. Throughout the activity, Girl Scouts will be encouraged to share and debate hypotheses with their peers to ultimately work together to solve the mystery before the workshop ends.

Time to get physical in this comprehensive and well rounded workout regime combining stretching, coordination and strength! These virtual workshops enhance each Girl Scout's health, self-image, and well-being through personalized coaching. The class will begin with some light movement to get muscles warm. Then it will transition into stretching, to loosen up the muscles. The stretching exercises will focus on opening up the legs, hips and back.

Coding Basics with Saturday Academy - 2/19- Portland, OR

MEMBERSHIP REQUIRED

Date: Sat Feb 19, 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM PST

Create a digital story with characters, sound and motion while learning coding basics. Fulfills requirements 1-4 for Juniors Coding Basics badge AND the pre-requisite for Digital Game Design class. No programming experience necessary. Register by emailing GETregistration@saturdayacademy.org.

Digital Game Design with Saturday Academy - 3/5- Portland, OR

MEMBERSHIP REQUIRED

Date: Sat Mar 05, 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM PST

Create a unique "helpful" computer game using Scratch programming. Have a theme and then add the extras to make it fun. Come as a troop or with a friend and test each other's games. Earn the Digital Game Design badge in Junior Coding for Good series (badges not provided) or requirements 4-5 for Cadette Digital Game Design badge. Pre-requisite: Earn the Coding Basics badge before you come or some programming experience (e.g., one hour of code). Register by emailing GETregistration@saturdayacademy.org.
